Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic physical therapy is a personalized rehabilitation program that uses the properties of water to achieve therapeutic results. The natural buoyancy of water decreases stress on the body and helps patients exercise easier with reduced pain. The natural pressure of water in therapy pools reduces joint and soft-tissue swelling and provides enough resistance to strengthen muscle.
Merit Health River Region’s aquatic therapy program includes:
- Fully equipped and trained physical therapists
- Underwater treadmill system
